Area 10 have hosted many music events, featuring an eclectic mix of styles of music as part of multi medium or cross disciplinary events, often complemented by other kinds of live performance. Different stages and spaces have allowed varied an exciting diverse programme.
Musical experimentations, collaborations and recording projects have taken place within this platform, e.g. the ‘Sonic Harvest’ project, in it's third year running was a two week intensive musical jam with local musicians and from abroad, who collaboratively produced a series of remarkable CDs. Area 10 has showcased many up and coming bands as part of their events like ‘Spectrum’, the ‘Noisettes’ (recently hailed as the hottest performing rock band by the Guardian), ‘The Future Shape of Sound’, 'The Ludes'. Live music events have been organised by different groups like The Children of !WoWoW!
Bands from outside London and abroad have been hosted along with experimental sound artists, electronic musicians, DJs and VJs, acoustic performers, and much more. The music platform also includes the provision of an ideal rehearsal space. |
